    Background:
    The Global Languages Endorsement (GLE) was approved by the North Carolina State Board of Education in January 2015 and available beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. The Global Languages Endorsement is one of 5 High School Diploma Endorsements that a student might earn as outlined in SBE Policy GRAD-007. The purpose is to provide a way for students to show their multiliteracy in English and at least one World Language. Students may add as many World Languages for which they qualify to a GLE. For additional information on the High School Diploma Endorsements and seal production requirements for diplomas, visit: www.ncpublicschools.org/curriculum/scholars.
    Below are six documents to assist you in the implementation of awarding this GLE endorsement for the 2017 - 2018 year.

    Power School Documentation 2017-2018.
    The identification and notation on the student transcript has now been automated in PowerSchool. This document provides information on the requirements and how PowerSchool will automatically identify qualifying students. In addition, information is provided on where one can check in PowerSchool for students in a school that may be qualifying for any of the High School Diploma Endorsements. NOTE: School or district must enter qualifying NCDPI approved external assessments taken by students or Credit by Demonstrated Mastery (CDM) information for PowerSchool to locate in automated identification logic.
