The Global Languages Endorsement (GLE) was approved by the North Carolina State Board of Education in January 2015 and available beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. The Global Languages Endorsement is one of 5 High School Diploma Endorsements that a student might earn as outlined in SBE Policy GCS-L-007. The purpose is to provide a way for students to show their multiliteracy in English and at least one World Language. Students may add as many World Languages for which they qualify to a GLE.
